Meemaw was the maternal great-grandmother of Greg Heffley, Rodrick Heffley and Manny Heffley. As well as their cousins, Malvin, Malcom, and Georgia, the grandmother-in-law of Frank Heffley, the maternal grandmother of Susan and the wife of Peepaw. She was one on Susan's side according to the family tree in the extended version of Do-It-Yourself Gramma and her sisters are her daughters. She died at some point prior to Hard Luck and appears in Wrecking Ball.
Meemaw was known in the Heffley family for her annual Easter egg hunts that she held for the kids; most of the plastic eggs she would fill with candy, but every so often she would slip in a five-dollar bill. She also was known for hiding way more eggs than necessary, and Greg suspects there are many eggs that have still not been found to this day, recalling that Frank found a plastic egg in Gramma's toilet tank. However, as Meemaw got older, Greg claims she "wasn't as sharp as she used to be” and started putting stranger prizes in the plastic eggs; Greg recalls finding objects such as a green bean, a bottle cap, a paper clip, and a used tissue in some of his eggs, and Manny finding dental floss in one of his eggs. The last Easter egg hunt was held the year Meemaw passed away.
Meemaw had a diamond wedding ring passed down from generation to generation and is worth a lot of money - when Susan realized at the funeral that Meemaw wasn't wearing the ring, they went back to the rest home where she lived to search for it. The situation devolved into an family members accusing one another of stealing the ring and arguments over who was left the ring in Meemaw's will. Eventually, the one to find the ring is Greg, who finds it inside one of Meemaw's old plastic Easter eggs in Gramma's backyard towards the end of the book. Greg initially thinks of selling the ring for a large amount of money, but decides to hide it in the closet due to fear of breaking up the family.
Meemaw does not have her diamond ring in the Long Haul, maybe because she already lost the ring. The Long Haul took place in the summer while Easter took place in the spring, where she lost the ring, although her appearance in the movie may not be in the Book canon. She also started the annual Heffley family Easter egg hunt.
