Sam Snella (known as Sam Smedley in the online book) is a member of the Snellas and the twin brother of the sixth member in the family that formerly lived up the street from Greg Heffley. He is mentioned in The Last Straw.

He is shown in the Snella's first appearance either batting or being hit by a baseball. [1]
During Sam's half-birthday party, a man named Mr. Bittner split his pants while doing jumping jacks, which Mr. Snella recorded and sent into a TV show called "America's Funniest Families".

Sam presumably moved away with the rest of his family the summer before the The Ugly Truth.
